The Comfort Inn Laguna Hills / Irvine Spectrum has been Green certified by the State of California since 2003. The have been recognized and awarded two leaves by GREEN SUITES in 2007, and also recognized by Choice Hotels and awarded an APEX award for ECO EXCELLENCE in 2008. The California Green Lodging Program was developed by the CIWMB to provide travelers a green option for their lodging needs. The program is currently being operated by the Department of General Services as a part of the State Travel program. State employees are encouraged to explore green lodging options when on state business. The Program’s goals include diverting waste from landfills, conserving energy and water, and improving indoor environmental quality. Whether you travel on state business or you just want to “do the right thing”, the California Green Lodging program provides a database of certified green hotels throughout the state.
